Jailhouse Carvoeiro has been a live music venue since the 60's.
The building was originally a corn store and the property has a beautiful timber roof and overhanging balcony on the first floor which overlooks what is now the dance floor.
The first proprietor was an Irish man, and a jazz buff who registered the building as the first ever nightclub and disco in the Algarve. But his love was live music and over the following twenty years he had many famous artists and groups appearing including Georgie Fame,Ronnie Scott, Donavan, Cat Stevens , Paul McCartney .
The tradition of live music continues today, but we have now extended the property by adding an outside garden area and a terrace at the back with two pool tables for guests use.
This helps create a good family atmosphere as you can play pool safely outside on the enclosed terrace , whilst other family members and everyone else enjoys the music inside.
We are a non smoking bar, but non the less, have a huge extractor system to help keep the hot Algarve temperatures bareable inside and the large outside garden area to the front of the building is an ideal spot to sit in comfort in the lovely Algarve evening air and still listen to the music.

We are right next to the post office in Carvoeiro village center.
Walk from the beach along the cobbled "in" road until you see the Post Office (correio) on your left , we are up the hill a few yards . You will see our sign and garden from the post office door.
